US Olympian Lindsey Vonn Cotroversial SI Cover

Lindsey Vonn is on the cover of Sports Illustrated's Winter Olympic preview issue. Lindsey is hoping the Sports Illustrated cover mayhem doesn't come with her too the winter Olympics.

There are some who think that Lindsey Vonn's pose is too provocative and objectifies her as a sex symbol rather than showing her as an athlete. It has drawn the predictable ire from those who claim that it objectifies her. Only about 4% of Sports Illustrated covers feature women athletes.

The Sports Illustrated headline reads "America's best woman skier ever." Lindsey Vonn's SI cover is almost identical to the 1992 SI Winter Olympic preview. The difference is in 1992, the cover featured AJ Kitt, a male. There was no outrage over that cover. Lindsey Vonn's cover, likewise, should not have provoked so much outrage.

People need to get their minds out of the gutter. I've seen that pose many times over the years. Just goes to prove that no matter how far women have come, there are still those that can't see beyond the boobs & butt. Those people should take a look at some of the reality shows on tv....Now there's something to complain about!

I know. I don't see the big deal about this pose either. I think she looks like a skier.

Same as what sunil said with the too vs. to. ALSO since you started the first sentence with her full name you can start the second sentence with "she" using Lindsay is redundant.

Looks like people just need to lighten up. Next week we'll be seeing that pose and thinking about times, form, and beating the pants off other countries. Stop thinking with your reproductive organs and start using your brains, people!

Your corrections and suggestions have been made for the article. As far as the post being provocative, I think if people want to view this pose as sexual, they will. It hardly seems that it is to me, however.
