The question on everybody's mind after Tiger Woods apology video 10 days ago still remained the same: When will Tiger Woods play golf again? When Tiger took to the podium Friday, February 19 I didn't expect that he would mention when he would be returning to golf but I was hoping he would. Of course he didn't because the public address was focused on his issues off the golf course and the golf world is still left wondering...
So what do you think? With the Masters just around the corner on April 8 - 11 it looks like that major tournament is out of the question. But what about the U.S. Open that runs June 17 - 20. Still too early? When I look at the tournament schedule for 2010 one tournament jumps out at me. The Open Championship (British Open) that goes from July 15 - 18. That gives plenty of time for Tiger to get back into golf shape and is away from American soil so it could take some of the pressure off of his first tournament back.
The only thing is...are the British tabloids worse than the American ones? Will they constantly harass Tiger every day as he's arriving or leaving the golf course? No matter when Tiger Woods start playing golf again he going to feel the brunt of the media. It's just a question of when that first tournament back will be. I'm thinking he'll be back by July.
