The Boston Red Sox won both of their exhibition games during their Spring Training openers in Fort Myers yesterday. In an afternoon game against Northeastern University, the Sox scored 15 to Northeastern's 0. David Ortiz hit a two-run homer, setting the tone for a six-run fourth inning. Casey Kelly polished off Northeastern during his first inning start, while Manny Delarmen pitched a scoreless second inning.
The very chilly Spring Training evening game against Boston College ended with the Sox scoring 6 runs, and BC just 1. Pitcher Boof Bonser, who has been recovering from surgery on his right shoulder and labrum, earned the victory against BC, in this, his first return to the pitching mound. Kevin Youkilis hit an RBI single in the first inning, and Jose Iglesias (not to be confused with Julio!) hit a double in the fourth that cleared the bases.

Red Sox pitcher Boof Bonser returns to the mound after surgery.
The first official Spring Training league play starts tonight, with the Red Sox hosting the Minnesota Twins. The game will be played at the City of Palms Park in Fort Myers.
