The Washington Huskies will take on the West Virginia Mountaineers on Thursday as a part of the third round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
March Madness has already proven to be a jungle gym of upsets and the trend could continue in this game as well. The two teams will meet in the Carrier Dome that will be covered by CBS Sports.
The Washington Huskies are a number eleven seed and have high hopes to win this game. Their leading scorer Quincy Pondexter scored 18 points in a second round win over New Mexico over the weekend. He was helped by Isaiah Thomas and Matt Bryan-Amaning who had fifteen points apiece.
The Washington Huskies have been able to put up a valiant offensive effort against better ranked teams and it has carried them this far.
Look for them to have some intensity on the defensive end as well as long as they can keep their up-tempo style of play.
The West Virginia Mountaineers are a number two seed but may be unpleasantly surprised with how tough the Huskies will be to beat. In their second round match against Missouri on Sunday they won by nine points but had their struggles along the way. Da'Sean Butler had a solid performance with 28 points and had been nicknamed the "Magic Man" by fellow teammates. Butler had some help from Devin Ebanks who had eight rebounds and 14 points.
This looks to be a fairly even match-up and has a good chance of going the Washington Huskies way. The winner of this game will go on to play the winner of the Kentucky Wildcats vs Cornell Big Red game.
