This year's Masters Tournament found Phil Mickelson triumphing for the third time in his career. For the first time in this golf season, Amy Mickelson was in the crowd, watching her husband, who donned a pink ribbon on his cap.
Amy Mickelson, a former Phoenix Sun's cheerleader, has had a pretty tough year! Back in May of 2009, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She began treatment immediately and underwent major surgery in the weeks following. At the Crown Plaza Invitational, the golfers wore pink in honor of her and the Mickelson Family.
We've been going round and round with this whole Tiger thing for months now. It's kind of refreshing to see this golfer win a title for his lovely wife! How deserving of them both, how wonderful to bring a positive light to the Master's and what a wonderful gift for Ms. Mickelson.
I wonder who would have been waiting for Tiger in the gallery had he won? Would we be seeing the same loving embrace, kisses and happy tears that we saw with the Mickelson couple?
Phil and Amy were married in 1996 and have three children together.
