Bristol Motor Speedway history has been made as of Saturday night. That's because NASCAR driver Kyle Busch achieved a sweep, winning all three races at the track, a first for any driver. For the record books, Busch will officially be known as the first driver to win in three national events in the same week at Bristol.
While many racing fans talked about Kasey Kahne's wild ride (see video) on Friday night, NASCAR fans will now be talking about Kyle Busch's historic feat. According to NASCAR.com, Busch won the Cup, Nationwide and Truck races all taking place over the past week at Bristol. Saturday night's race was described as "drama-free" with Busch leading 282 of the 500 laps, after starting in 19th. Coming in second was David Reutimann, followed by Jamie McMurray, Clint Bowyer and Kasey Kahne to complete the top five.
In the Nationwide race Friday night, Busch was seen intentionally wrecking his competitor Brad Keselowski, which helped Busch get the win. The two reportedly played up their feud prior to tonight's Cup Series event, but there were no further incidents between the two during the race.
Congratulations to Kyle Busch on this historic sweep of three races at the same track in one week. It takes a lot of skill and ability to pull out wins in three different events, not to mention in the same week. Kyle Busch currently sits in third place in the Cup Series standings, trailing first place driver Kevin Harvick by 351 points. Whether he wins the Series or not in 2010, Kyle Busch (and his crew) showed he is the master of Bristol Motor Speedway.
