An intriguing matchup at UFC 121 will take place on Saturday at the Honda Center in Anaheim California when Tito Ortiz, who desperately needs a win steps into the octagon to battle his good friend and former student Matt Hamill.
According to a Yahoo online article Ortiz who last fought in November against Forrest Griffin, has gone 0-3-1 in his past four fights.
His last victory was way back in October 2006 when he defeated his number one rival at the time in Ken Shamrock who was coaching against Ortiz during the Ultimate Fighter Season 3.
At that time Ortiz who is a former light heavyweight champion was impressed by an unproven fighter on the show named Matt Hamill.
Naturally Ortiz made him his first pick and even though he didn’t win Season three Hamill who is a former collegiate wrestling champion has gotten better in each fight.
Currently he has won his past four fights including such warriors as Mark Munoz at UFC 96 and Keith Jardine during the UFC 11 finale. Â
Meanwhile during the Ultimate Fighter show Hamill beat Mike Nickels before being sidelined due to a lingering injury.
