WWE Bragging Rights 2010 has come and gone and here are the full details on the match by match results for 2010's installment of real life Smackdown vs Raw! There was a repeat victory, a brother of destruction got buried alive, The Nexus won Championship gold yet John Cena had to use a loophole to keep his job? What does all this mean for the WWE Championship or more importantly the entire WWE Universe? Well all those answers that were promised to you earlier are all right here.
First up there was the very first Raw vs Smackdown! match of the night in the form of Smackdown's Intercontinental Champion: Dolph Ziggler taking on Raw's United States Champion: Daniel Bryan. The match was filled with fast paced, non stop action and was a fantastic start to the pay-per-view. After countless near falls and close calls it was Daniel Bryan who call himself the victor after forcing Dolphy to tap-out to the LeBell Lock, pulling in the first win for Team Raw!
After this however, the WWE Tag Team Champions: Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre made their way to the ring and cut a promo about how no one would dare challenge them tonight... especially no one from Raw considering that the majority of the loser teams they had beaten were from that show. YOU'VE GOT MAIL! The Raw GM made his presence known as he sent an email explaining that RAW actually does have a Tag Team befitting of a Tag Team Title Shot tonight! WE WALK ALONE! To the dismay of everyone the contenders for the titles ending up being... The Nexus! Which members you may ask? That would be the "A-List" David Otunga... and the man who was ordered to win.. JOHN CENA! While Otunga stood on the apron the entire match John Cena single handedly defeated Drew & Cody bringing himself.. and the Nexus! The WWE Tag Team Championships!
From here, Ted DiBiase and Goldust continued their feud over everything shiny as DiBiase defeated Goldust. However, to the dismay of Teddy, Goldust's girl Aksana would use her womanly charms to distract TDJ long enough to get a Final Cut from Goldust who would then take the Million Dollar title back into his possession.
After that there was the the WWE Diva's Championship match. There wasn't too much to this one, which had Layla successfully defending the belt with some help from Michelle McCool.
Now it was time for tonight's first main event: The World Heavyweight Buried Alive match. Undertaker vs Kane, only way to win was to bury your opponent (in this case your brother) ALIVE! In the end while it looked as if The Undertaker was going to win, it was thanks to interfence from.. The Nexus? (weird) That Kane would infact end up burying his brother six feet under. After the match the Undertaker's music hit and his symbol digitally appeared on his tombstone.
The Bragging Rights match itself was next. Seven on Seven. Raw vs Smackdown! Here we go! Santino was eliminated first by Tyler Reks(SD7-RAW6). After this Sheamus(RAW6-SD6) would get rid of Kofi Kingston. Jack Swagger ate a Starship Pain courtesy or John Morrison(RAW6-SD5) eliminating him. At this point Smackdown's Alberto Del Rio would turn on his fellow Smackdowner Rey Mysterio seemingly seperating his shoulder sending him to the back. Sheamus(RAW6-SD4) would dominate Tyler Reks pinning him. Big Show and Sheamus went buck wild brawling up the rampway causing BOTH men to get counted out(RAW5-SD3). Edge speared R-Truth giving him the victory(SD3-RAW4) just a few minutes before John Morrison missed a Starship Pain and getting speared again in another loss for the Red team(SD3-RAW3). Alberto Del Rio would get caught with a backslide by CM Punk eliminating him(RAW3-SD2). Del Rio at first seemed angry, but then smiled and realized he didn't really care about Smackdown anyway before walking up the ramp way with a smug look on his face. Enter the return of the 619! as Rey Mysterio attacked Del Rio from behind before running to SD's corner urging Edge to tag him in as he was the only man who could save him. And save him he would, as Rey Mysterio landed a 619 and Dropped the dime on CM Punk evening the odds for team blue(SD2-RAW2). Minutes later in a somewhat controversial moment Rey Rey would hit ANOTHER 619 on Ezekial Jackson! Zeke would kick out but only moments AFTER the 3 count putting SD in the lead(SD2-RAW1) with only the RAW team captain remaining. After a numerous near falls in a show of fantastic team work Rey Rey would lead The Miz right into a spear leading to the 1! 2! 3! and once again giving Smackdown! another year's worth of Bragging Rights!(WINNERS: Team Smackdown - Edge & Rey Mysterio)
Main Event time as Randy Orton defended the WWE Championship against Nexus' Leader: Wade Barrett. Just before this match began Wade Barrett announced that should he lose tonight John Cena would be fired! This match centered around Cena's spot in the situation and what would happen should he have to intervene. Well with the referee knocked out the rest of the Nexus would take it upon THEMSELVES to do this themselves as they beat down on Randy Orton. That was until JOHN CENA made the save! Throwing the interfering members of Nexus out of the ring! The WWE Fans rejoiced that Cena had finally had enough.... that was until Cena said that he had to get Nexus out of the ring because the ref was coming to and Barrett would have been disqualified!
A few minutes later Randy Orton seemed to have things in the bag, readying for an RKO and that's when Cena finally had to do something. Cena rolled into the ring.. stood behind Randy Orton... and then ran around him... lifting Barrett onto his shoulders and delivering the Attitude Adjustment to Wade Barrett!... causing a disqualification!... meaning that though Wade did not win the title, he DID however win the match.. so TECHNICALLY John Cena did what he was told to do and made sure Barrett was recognized as the winner. Cena grabbed the WWE Championship and handed to Orton saying he had to do what he had to--- BUT WAS RKO'ed by the enraged Champion! It seems Orton wanted to keep the title HIS way.. NOT Cena's career saving way.
So the old questions have been answered, but in their wake an entirely new set of questions have taken their place. How will Wade Barrett respond to Cena's loophole? How will Cena feel about Orton's "surprising" show of gratitude in the form of an RKO? What does the future hold for World Champion: Kane who will no longer have to live in the shadow of his older brother? How hard will Matt Striker and Todd Grisham punish Michael Cole this Friday? As always, only time will tell.
