Tiki Barber manged to put his foot in his mouth by comparing himself to the famous Anne Frank, the Holocaust survivor. Barber is just one of many foot and mouth disease victims in the sports world recently. He joins the ranks of stupid comments like Rashard Mendenhall sympathizing with Bin Laden and Andrian Peterson comparing the league to modern-day slavery.
This NFL running back started off talking about his very public split from his wife, Ginny, in an interview with Sports Illustrated. From here, he discussed his relationship with the young NBC intern, Traci Johnson. His wife was pregnant when he dumped her for the hot blonde intern, Johnson.
Tiki told the interviewer that the media scrutiny was so bad that it forced him and Johnson into hiding. They held out in an attic apartment in New Jersey, owned by his agent, Mark Lepselter. "Lep's Jewish, and it was like a reverse Anne Frank thing," Barber told the interviewer, according to CBS News.
Barber's comment reinforces the fact that not all sports figures are smart. As Tiki shot this off from his hip as a comment meant as funny, the interviewer's jaw must have dropped.
A football player who dumps his pregnant wife and then holds up with his hot mistress in an attic apartment, which is more like a love nest, and he equates himself with the hell that Anne Frank went through? This comment gets a prize for the most inappropriate yet.
This also backfired on Tiki because the tabloids, the people he was originally hiding from in his attic room, have picked this comment up and ran with it.
