With today's Wimbledon 2011 results, the finals were decided with a winner in the Djokovic vs Nadal match. That men's final winner was the impressive new tennis star, Novak Djokovic, and he may be ready to redefine tennis along with sports history books.
According to ESPN, today's Wimbledon winner has "changed the entire landscape of the men's game." There were previous questions about Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, but now the thoughts have shifted over to Djokovic. The Serbian tennis star has now proven himself to be an equal to those other two major stars in the men's game. In 2011, he has proven himself to be the best of those three names, rising to new levels in the game.
With that, many tennis fans and sports reporters will be following Djokovic very closely this summer to see just how much more this star can rise. There is now talk of Novak potentially surpassing the impressive single-year winning percentage set by John McEnroe. That mark was an 82-3 record with a .965 winning percentage. In a fitting endorsement, McEnroe gave praise to Novak on Twitter today saying, "What a performance from @DjokerNole. Truly world #1!!!"
Most sports fans know the names Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and John McEnroe. They are household names, tennis icons and major sports stars. The world now watches to see if Novak Djokovic will join their ranks. For now, Djokovic is probably happy enough just enjoying his moment as the 2011 Wimbledon winner.

This is the first Wimbledon final I have not watched in probably twenty years.
I would have followed the woman's side if Henin was still playing. Huge talent in a tiny package. I miss her and can't get excited about anyone else on the woman's side.
