Reggie Bush has another year left on his current contract, but the Saints added Mark Ingram in this years NFL Draft and the rumors around the league is that New Orleans is looking to trade the running back.
The Indianapolis Colts have struggled with injuries at the running back position and adding a player like Bush would give the team another weapon for their high-powered offense. Joseph Addai has yet to play a full season in his five years in the NFL and the depth behind him is not all that strong. Bush is a great receiving back and with the recent struggles of the offensive line, he would give Peyton Manning a good check down receiver out of the backfield.
Bush is owed nearly $12 million this year, but a restructuring of his contract for more years could be the move needed for a sign and trade. A deal between these two teams make sense as the Colts need the added depth and the Saints must make room for what is now a crowded position on their team.
Look for this and several other moves by teams around the NFL once a new contract is agreed upon. The owners and players have had some good talks lately and the hope is that a new deal will be reached and the season goes forward without the loss of any games for the upcoming season.
