The 2011 British Open Championship TV schedule dates arrive this week with tee times announced. Also known as The Open Championship 2011, golf fans will be eager to see which of the PGA's top stars can capture this year's tournament win.
Currently, The 2011 Open Championship schedule starts with round 1 on television on Thursday, July 14th, on ESPN. The tournament play starts early for the United States with coverage beginning in the wee hours of the morning at 4 AM EST, and running all the way until 6PM EST. Fans will be able to watch stars like Rory McIlroy (pictured), Lee Westwood and Phil Mickelson as they attempt to get the win.
Pairings and Open Championship tee times have been announced as well. Of note, Phil Mickelson is in a trio which includes last year's championship winner. Their tee time will start at 2:21 PM EST, while Lee Westwood's pairing will go just eleven minutes prior to that. Many golf fans are well aware that golf star Tiger Woods will not be competing in this year's championship tournament in England.
For the British Open, this is the 140th annual edition of the tournament and one of the top victories for a golfer's resume along with the US Open and The Masters. The 2011 Open Championship will officially end on Sunday, July 17th, with a winner declared.
