In a somewhat shocking move, Tiger Woods fired his long-time caddie and friend Steve Williams. Now the loyal employee has some harsh words for the embattled golfer.
While Tiger Woods announced that this decision was mutual, Steve Williams says something completely different. In fact, he was quite surprised to hear he had been sacked after his long-time loyalty to the former number 1 golfer in the world. The caddie actually feels that he has wasted the last two years of his life standing by Woods even to his own personal detriment.
The surprised caddie wrote on his website the following:
Following the completion of the AT&T National I am no longer caddying for Tiger after he informed me that he needed to make a change. After 13 years of loyal service needless to say this came as a shock. Given the circumstances of the past 18 months working through Tiger's scandal, a new coach and with it a major swing change and Tiger battling through injuries I am very disappointed to end our very successful partnership at this time.
Williams went on to say that he will now work with Adam Scott of Australia. Good for him that he was able to continue his life's work. It is incredibly unfortunate that he was not rewarded for his loyalty to Tiger Woods especially through these past difficult 18 months. Of course, the golfer has really shown his true colors during this time, so maybe it's not such a huge surprise that he had no reciprocal loyalty to his caddie and friend.
