Oklahoma City is one of the best young teams in the NBA, and messing with the Thunder's chemistry could be a huge mistake, but Westbrook was benched during the playoffs last season, and comments about him not changing his style of play could be the reason for him playing elsewhere in the coming season.
The latest rumor is a three-team deal that has Westbrook going to the Boston Celtics, Rajon Rondo and Wilson Chandler going to the Thunder, and Jeff Green and Nate Robinson heading to the Denver Nuggets.
Boston needs to add some youth, and Westbrook gives them youth and an added scorer. Boston has one last run in them with their aging stars, and this deal would give them their best shot at contending for an NBA title.
Oklahoma City would get a true point guard that can penetrate and dish to the Thunder's star players. Rondo is also an above-average defender and would be a good asset for Oklahoma City.
Denver would receive some much needed help for their front-court with Green and a backup point guard in Robinson. Green is a better player in the open court, and playing in Denver would definitely be a good match for both him and the franchise.
