Tiger Woods was getting ready to putt in today's tournament when a fan broke away from the crowd and made his way towards him. In his hand he had a hotdog, which he sent air born towards one of the world's most popular golfers.
Thankfully the hotdog was not garnished with chili, or that would have been a real mess for Tiger Woods. As luck would have it, the hotdog didn't make much of a splash and thankfully no harm's done to the golfer, who is fighting to get his name back to the top of the ranks where it once stood alone for years.
Tiger Woods has disappointed his fans in many ways over the last year or so. It started with his private life, which eventually morphed into playing havoc with his game of golf. Today one of his fans apparently decided to show Tiger a thing or two by throwing a hotdog at him just as he was about to putt.
It wasn't clear what the man, described as white and in his late 20s or early 30s, was trying to prove, but it's very clear that he's intoxicated to all around him. Woods' golf partner in the tournament, Rod Pampling, said the incident was "bizarre," according to the LA Times.
After the man threw his hotdog at Tiger Woods, he immediately put-up his arms and waited for security to come and take him into custody. Both the tournament security and police officers made their way to the hotdog tosser. That's one way to get some attention for sure.
All kidding aside, the scary part about all of this is that the man was able to make his way to Tiger and got close enough to toss a hotdog at him without being stopped. Thankfully it was just a hotdog, but the possibilities here are endless for how a scenario might play out if the man was holding something that could really harm Woods.
