The NFL trade deadline is this week and Brandon Lloyd has been put on the trading block by the Denver Broncos. The team is looking to play younger players at wide receiver and though the veteran was the Broncos leading wide out last season, his numbers are down this year.
The latest from Bleacher Report suggests that Lloyd is headed to the Tennessee Titans in a deal that would make him the team's top receiver. The Titans lost Kenny Britt for the season with a knee injury and the team is actually in the hunt for an NFL playoff spot, so making a deal for a veteran who can help the younger players on and off the field makes sense.
These two teams are going in opposite directions as Denver is looking to rebuild with youth and the Titans are adding veterans to teach the young guys the ropes. If a trade does happen this week, Tennessee will get a player that has a low salary, but a huge upside to the talent the team has at the wide receiver position. Denver will get a mid round draft pick that the team can use in the 2012 NFL Draft as part of their rebuilding process.
