It is still early in the NFL season, but teams that are not playing well have their fans looking forward to the draft and what player could help their team in 2012. This pick is based on the Indianapolis Colts record at present, and could change based on how the team performs for the rest of the season.
Andrew Luck is considered a can't miss prospect as the Stanford Cardinal quarterback has all the skill that coaches look for an elite quarterback. Luck would be like Aaron Rodgers in that he can sit back and learn from a Hall of Fame player and then take over the team.
Peyton Manning is now 35 and missing games due to injury for the first time in his career, and taking Luck next season would give the Colts their next franchise quarterback and keep the team relevant in the league for years to come.
There is little doubt that Luck will become the number one choice in the 2012 NFL Draft, it is just a matter of what team has the worst record in the league, but gets the best quarterback prospect the league has seen in years.
