Through grit and determination quarterback Jay Cutler rolled off two critical NFL victories prior to the Chicago Bears bye week. Looking ahead it appears a number of fortunate events might be setting up for him perfectly.
Bears are getting Earl Bennett and Gabe Carimi back
Never could a quarterback be more excited about injured players returning at the right time than Cutler. Wide receiver Earl Bennett and right tackle Gabe Carimi both are likely to return next Sunday. Both got injured in week 2 when the Chicago Bears got hammered in New Orléans. Bennett suffered a chest injury after a vicious hit from a Saints defender while Carimi suffered a dislocated knee. Reasons for Cutler's excitement rest in the effect of both players on the field.
Prior to the rookie first round pick Carimi going down Jay wasn't sacked in the Saints game. He got dropped six times after. Bennett on the other hand has something other Bears receivers have lacked lately: reliable hands. In 2010 no player was more consistent on crucial 3rd downs than Bennett and his absence showed on several offensive drives. Getting them back affords Jay Cutler safety valves against repeated beat downs from opposing defenses.
Perhaps good NFL karma is finally throwing Jay a bone
Cutler has become infamous in media circles for being somewhat sulky and disinterested during interviews. It's almost a running joke at this point. However, recent months have brought out a side of Jay somewhat alien to fans and haters alike. According to ESPN.com, the Chicago Bears quarterback gave a rare display of his sense of humor by pretending like he didn't know what day of the week it was. While several reporters and writers still think his personality could use a makeover, it's definite progress from how he was in Denver and in 2009 when he showed disinterest after throwing a league-high 26 interceptions. Since then Cutler has revamped himself step-by-step. He's in the best shape of his career. He's gaining a bigger voice in the locker room and at least made an effort to become warmer during interviews.
Dancing with the Stars appearance signaled Jay regretted losing Kristin Cavallari
After an opening day win against the Atlanta Falcons, Jay experienced flashbacks of 2010 when he spent most his time on his back en route to 52 sacks. Defenses kept hitting him and he kept throwing bad passes. Like any human being it frustrated him and that frustration carried into his interview curtness. The Bears lost three out of their first five games and Cutler appeared lost. No sooner did that take place than Jay popped up in the audience at "Dancing with the Stars" where ex-fiancée Kristin Cavallari competed. Rumors started spreading about regret at their failed wedding plans. Finally the Insider reported the couple is "100% back together."
No one can argue coincidence and timing in the NFL. In just under a week Jay Cutler is getting his favorite receiver and most talented lineman back. His team is playing better after two straight wins. The Chicago Bears schedule gets easier moving forward and he's reunited with bombshell Kristin Cavallari. Not bad for one week of news.

Things are definitely looking up.
Matt Forte is right there for sure. I'd probably rank it Arian Foster, Adrian Peterson, Matt Forte. I hope the Bears don't overuse him because we'll need his skill set if we reach the playoffs.
