The weekend couldn't have gone much better for Jay Cutler. Not long after he helped his Chicago Bears blast the Detroit Lions at Soldier Field, the quarterback went out on a rather public date with girlfriend Kristin Cavallari.
Bears blow away Detroit Lions with Defense and Devin Hester
It was old-fashioned Chicago football at Soldier Field and Cutler got a front row seat to watch. The tone got set early when defensive end Julius Peppers forced a Detroit fumble on the first offensive series. Cutler promptly led his team down the field and scored a touchdown to put the Bears in front. From there, things started to snowball. The Bears defense forced five more turnovers, including two interceptions returned for touchdowns. The Detroit Lions started showing their true colors when the score got out of hand, taking cheap shots on Cutler by ripping his helmet off and landing on top of him after the play was over. None of it mattered because the game was largely over thanks to dynamic return man Devin Hester. In the second quarter, with Detroit starting to find their footing, Hester did what he does best. He put the game away. A Lions punt ended up in his hands and with a bad ankle he returned it 82 yards for touchdown. Jay Cutler barely had to break a sweat the entire game, a statement Chicago Bears victory.
Cutler eases aches and pains by announcing date with Cavallari on Twitter
Most people in Chicago know that Jay isn't a big fan of publicity. He tries diligently to keep himself out of newspapers when he does charity functions and only recently started a Twitter account. It was that very online tool he used to announce a date with his girlfriend Kristin Cavallari. It's a strange circumstance consider he and she were left for dead after their planned wedding imploded. However, hearts changed and Cutler has since reunited with the reality TV starlet. Together they went out to Joe's Seafood restaurant for dinner before ending the night with drinks at a prominent setting called Public House.
Jay Cutler doesn't need to make apologies to anybody. His Chicago Bears are riding a four-game winning streak. His play has gotten better and better despite his pedestrian day against Detroit. Now his once lost relationship with Kristin Cavallari and has gotten a jolt from the proverbial defibrillator. Not a bad end to the weekend.
