The day has finally come for golf fans. Today is the day that the Presidents Cup finally gets underway in Royal Melbourne. However on the first day of this great tournament, more controversy has emerged surrounding former best friends Tiger Woods and his ex caddy Steve Williams. Steve Williams apologized to Woods for his racist comments towards the golfer, but has followed that up with more stirring comments in a recent interview.
Steve Williams casted doubts that Tiger Woods would ever reach the top of golf again, he also said that he "doesn't think" that Woods would be able to surpass Jack Nicholson's record of 18 major championships. When asked about the knowledge of Wood's personal life, Williams said he knew nothing about the many affairs the former golf great was having in his personal life.
Since splitting from Tiger Woods, kiwi Steve Williams has now joined Adam Scott and has been caddying for him for the last couple of months. If this latest biff between Woods and Williams has done nothing else, it will guarantee a bumper crowd at Royal Melbourne today to see the two face off on the links.
Round 1 of the Presidents Cup tees off today LIVE at 3 p.m.
