Where is Lamar Odom with Los Angeles Lakers and Khloe Kardashian?

Given the ridiculous media frenzy that won't go away from Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, people have forgotten the ongoing relationship between Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom and wife Khloe Kardashian?

Odom unsure of NBA future with trade talks swirling around Dwight Howard

After 12 years in the NBA and winning the Sixth Man Award last season, it's fair for Odom to think he earned a permanent roster spot with the Los Angeles Lakers, at least for one more season. Unfortunately that's not the way it works in professional sports. As the longtime west coast powerhouse keeps aging and their superstar Kobe Bryant seeks another title, news has linked Lamar to several possible trade deals for Orlando Magic superstar Dwight Howard. Unless he shows the consistent solid play in recent years again he could very well be the first luxury tax casualty of the new collective bargaining agreement.

While the details are somewhat muddled it basically means the Lakers would pay Odom the rest of his contract to leave the team and avoid paying a tax penalty. A lot of the details depend on where he stands with new head coach Mike Brown now that the great Phil Jackson retired, and how teammate Kobe Bryant feels. Dwight Howard is a very juicy prize the ever greedy Lakers would love to pluck, and not even being the best bench player on the team might save Lamar.

Odom and wife Khloe happier than Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries

Staying out of the tabloid alone is an amazing accomplishment but Lamar Odom and wife Khloe Kardashian did it so well that Celebuzz.com voted them the Happiest Couple of 2011. While the details are a bit complicated the website basically did vast research on various news articles and selected the couple with the most "good" buzz around them. Odom and Khloe qualified. It's amazing how different their relationship is from Kim Kardashian and her husband Kris Humphries. Both Lamar and Kris are NBA players. Khloe and Kim are sisters. Yet the relationships went completely opposite directions. It's a testament to the effort Lamar and Khloe put in their marriage, specifically a willingness to back away from the spotlight. Such a calm and happy relationship had positive effects for Odom in his professional career, despite his job being in jeopardy in L.A.

While Khloe Kardashian quietly supports Lamar Odom as she always has he must continue working hard despite the uncertainty of his future with the Los Angeles Lakers. One thing remains clear. He can't possibly do any worse than Kris Humphries did with Kim Kardashian.
