The NHL trade deadline is getting closer and several teams could look to make a move in hopes of keeping their playoff hopes alive. Pittsburgh is one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, but star Sidney Crosby is injured again and with no time-line for his return, making a trade for another scorer might become necessary.
Anaheim has some terrific players, but the Ducks are struggling and it is time to make some changes. Ryan Getzlaf has played his entire career with the Ducks and like his team, he is having a year to forget, but a trade to the Penguins could shake things up and return the star center to form. Getzlaf is a big center at 6'4" and 220 pounds, but he has quick feet and a scoring threat any time he is on the ice.
The Penguins have a need for offense without Crosby and with the uncertainty of him ever playing hockey again, look for the team to start moving in a new direction and try moving forward without their star. The NHL playoffs are still a few months away and making a trade now could help with team chemistry and give Pittsburgh a fighting chance for the top seed in the East.
