Super Bowl halftime shows are often legendary, and musicians who get the coveted chance to perform during halftime get more publicity than they can handle. This year's halftime show features Madonna along with a host of other musicians. For 12 minutes over 100 million eyes will be on them and they are expected to put together a performance that will be talked about for weeks to come for all the right reasons. The last thing anyone wants is another nipplegate like the halftime show of 2004. While you may think you know everything about today's game, here are a few things you may not know about the halftime entertainment.
Madonna is performing for free.
Well she isn't getting paid in cash but the publicity she will get could result in greater record sales when her next record hits stores in March. Madonna has been all over the television the past two weeks but the Super Bowl halftime show will be the biggest stage she could ask for at this time of the year. If other artists are smart, they will follow in Madonna's footsteps with the release of their next album.
There are four other performers besides Madonna.
While Madonna is the headline act for Sunday's festivities, Nicki Minaj, Cee-Lo Green, LMFAO, and M.I.A. will be performing alongside her. This is fairly common for halftime shows. There is typically a leading performer with multiple other performers backing them up. Nicki Minaj is featured in Madonna's newest video so it is safe to say she will be performing with Madonna on her newest release, but how the others will be brought into the mix is yet to be seen.
Madonna is old enough to be Kevin Faulk's mother.
Seeing as how Kevin Faulk is the oldest player on either the New York Giants or the New England Patriots, it means Madonna is old enough to be the mother of any player fighting for a championship ring Sunday. While not the oldest performer to ever headline the Super Bowl halftime, she is the oldest woman to have done so. It will be interesting to see how the woman old enough to be a grandmother puts together a show that will entertain all ages.

Heck between her and Cher, most women at 30 should be lucky to look like them.
50 is the new 30 you know.
