A Chris Kaman trade could still take place, even though the center has been a bit below the radar recently. With teams like the Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets and Miami Heat still looking for size, there is no end to the number of teams that want to acquire Kaman. The question is whether any of them will put up a Kaman trade offer that the New Orleans Hornets are content with.
Kurt Helin of NBC Sports reports that Kaman is still very likely to get traded before the March 15 NBA trade deadline. The team has apparently received a number of offers for him already, but that none of them were impressive enough to accept. New Orleans had been trying so hard to trade him that he got sent away from the team in order to keep him from getting hurt. Even under those desperate circumstances, the Hornets couldn't find a buyer in the market.
So what has Kaman done since coming back? He has averaged 17.8 points and 9 rebounds per game, making him an even more valuable commodity. Those are certainly numbers that could help most teams around the league and that could lead to a bevy of offers coming to the Hornets very soon. In the final year of his deal, Kaman presents a no-risk option for a franchise that needs a good center in the middle. He was an All-Star with the Los Angeles Clippers, so the talent is there; it's just about a team giving him adequate minutes.
Do you think that a team will offer enough value to the New Orleans Hornets that the team will trade Chris Kaman? Which NBA team do you think would become the best fit for him this season?
