Lakers Take The Lead Early
The Lakers come out on top after a competitive affair with the Miami Heat. Both of these teams were looking to continue their runs in their respective divisions. The final score was 93-83 in favor of the Lakers.
Kobe Bryant was definitely among the players of the game tonight. He scored an incredible 33 points to help give the Lakers the victory. This makes it his third straight game with over 30 points.
Kobe is still among the elite players in the game despite his age. He is currently averaging 28.8 points per game and doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. The Lakers are now 23-14.
Kobe went on to say, "I felt like we matched their energy and their physicality, which was a problem for us in Miami." This intensity allowed the Lakers to take an early lead, which helped them secure the victory.
Controversy Avoided
Much of the talk heading into the night was about how Kobe would react when faced against Dwayne Wade. Wade was the person who broke Kobe's nose during All-Star weekend, and many were waiting to see if there would be a confrontation. This never came as Kobe simply performed on the court.
James led the Heat in points scoring 25 points with over 13 rebounds. He had a great showing, but the Heat ultimately fell to defeat for the 9th time this season. The Miami Heat are now 28-9.
Chris Bosh was absent this game and the Heat certainly needed his presence on the court. They lacked production aside from Wade and James, and certainly need others to step up if they want to continue to be the dominant force like they were last season.
Wade fouled out for only the fifth time in his regular season career, which only helped the Lakers to victory. He scored 15 points with 6 assists.
