A JaVale McGee trade is possible now that the Washington Wizards are willing to listen to offers. With the center heading to free agency at the end of the current season, the Wizards may fear that his cost could really skyrocket. Either that or the team might have figured out that McGee is more of a one-trick guy, with nothing much more than a shot blocking ability in the middle.
According to the Washington Post, the Wizards will consider trading anyone on the roster not named John Wall. That could lead to more than one transaction for the team before the NBA trade deadline and certainly inclusion in many different NBA trade rumors in the next six days. With the deadline approaching on March 15, there isn't much time left to do a deal, but maybe the Wizards will hook up with the Milwaukee Bucks to do a deal that involves players like Andrew Bogut and Stephen Jackson.
JaVale McGee is averaging 11.5 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game during his fourth year in the league. All of those numbers are better than what he has put up previously, but his free throw percentage has dipped to just 47.2 percent. That's pretty low, but he doesn't get to the line often enough for it to make a big impact on games. At just 24 years old, McGee could take over at center for a team heavy on scorers for many years to come.
Do you think that the Washington Wizards will end up trading JaVale McGee before the deadline? Will his name start to pop up in NBA trade rumors involving every team that needs a center?
