The NCAA Tournament 2012 bracket predictions are now underway, after Selection Sunday has concluded its announcement of this year's March Madness teams. Recently, ESPN analyst Dick Vitale provided his picks for the Final Four in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Each season, NCAA Tournament predictions are made before the season, during the season, and right as the brackets are revealed. ESPN's Dick Vitale will be talking quite a bit in the coming weeks about the teams, games, players and more. He recently tweeted the following picks to emerge from the four regions in the tournament:
My Final 4 UK -Mizzou-FL ST -UNC!
Vitale added in his sleeper teams for the tournament, saying:
My sleepers 5th seed & higher r UCONN -Memphis-Vandy- NC ST
Vitale makes some smart picks with both of his tweets. Florida State has had a very impressive season and was able to defeat both Duke and North Carolina twice this season, yet FSU is a #3 seed. UNC and Duke are 1 and 2 seeds respectively. Meanwhile, Vanderbilt upset Kentucky in the SEC Championship game, while UCONN gave Syracuse trouble in the Big East Tournament and regular season. Both teams could cause some trouble for higher-ranked squads in the Big Dance.
Vitale has been pointing out a lot of interesting analysis via his Twitter account beyond that. He also believes the South region is toughest, followed by the West. Tournament play begins on Thursday, and by Friday evening, it will be seen if Dickie V has made the right analysis. Right now, one thing is for sure, and that is that the madness of March is starting to sweep up college basketball fans into a frenzy!
What do you think of Dick Vitale's Final Four and Sleeper picks? Do you think two #1 seeds won't make the Final Four like Dickie V does?
