The Dwight Howard trade may be imminent. In the latest NBA trade rumors, it appears the Orlando Magic may have come to terms with the fact that they will lose Howard to the New Jersey Nets at the end of the season. The reality is that Howard looks ready to sign with the Nets in free agency no matter what, leaving the Magic with no assets in return if the franchise doesn't trade him quickly.
According to CBS Sports, "the Magic are coming to grips with the reality that they will have to trade Howard." He also went on to state that, "Magic GM Otis Smith was taking calls Tuesday and trying to gage what the best offer will be in a potential Howard deal." While no official decision has been made about which team will become the primary trading partner, it is probably the case that the Orlando front office now knows the answer to that question.

Adrian Wojnarowski is also reporting that Howard will end up with the Nets, whether he gets traded before the deadline or signs with them as a free agent in the offseason. A league source for Wojnarowski stated that, "Dwight's gone, and [Magic CEO] Alex Martins is the only person who doesn't believe that." These are bold statements suggesting that Howard is going to get traded by the Nets within the next 48 hours unless something miraculous takes place.
Fans have been inundated with NBA trade rumors that involve Dwight Howard this year, and it appears that something is finally about to happen in the situation. If an Orlando to New Jersey trade starts taking shape, expect a third or fourth team to become involved to increase the numbers of assets that go to both of those teams.
Do you think that the big Dwight Howard trade is finally going to happen between the Orlando Magic and New Jersey Nets? Will this end up getting lumped into the equation as simply more NBA trade rumors that don't amount to much?
