With just over two weeks until the 2012 NFL Draft, rumors are everywhere on what player is going where and why. The NY Jets are one team that is difficult to figure out as the team struggled last season and have depth concerns at a number of positions.
The latest mock from Vincent Frank of Bleacher Report suggests the team look at wide receiver Alshon Jeffery of South Carolina. With the return of Plaxico Burress still up in the air and the problems on and off the field with Santonio Holmes, this team has real concerns at wide receiver heading into the 2012-13 season.
Jeffery has slipped down draft boards after a sub-par season last year with the Gamecocks and the youngster showed scouts he is in terrific shape with his off-season workouts, something that was a concern after gaining at least 20 pounds during last season.
The NY Jets have lots of work to do this NFL off-season if the team wants to stay competitive in the AFC. Finding some skilled play-makers is a must as quarterback Mark Sanchez has struggled with limited depth at receiver the last couple of seasons. This team could make several big changes if they miss the playoffs again and changing coaches and quarterback is not out of the question.
