In the final WWE Extreme Rules 2012 results, the main event match was held featuring one of pro wrestling's most popular stars against a man returning from his days in UFC to the wrestling ring. So who won the John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar match at the latest wrestling PPV?
According to one site's WWE Extreme Rules results, this was an all out war between Brock Lesnar and John Cena on Sunday night. The majority of the match saw Lesnar dominating Cena, busting him open early and drawing blood which required medical attention. Lesnar continued to show off his MMA skills with multiple takedowns and submission holds to try to snap Cena's arm during the match. He also used Cena's very own steel chain necklace as a weapon to tie Cena's legs and eventually hang Cena from the ringpost corner to beat on him.
However, Cena would not allow Lesnar to get in all the big shots. At one point, Cena managed to smash Brock onto the top of some steel steps in the ring. However, Cena's attempt at a leg drop off the corner missed, and Cena fell to the outside. Moments later, Brock dared Cena to come back in the ring, only to run and jump at him on the apron. The move smashed Cena into the crowd barrier and caused Brock to fall to the outside, where it seemed he hurt his leg.
Cena again managed to get on the apron when Brock was inside the ring. This time when Brock tried to fly at him, Cena was ready with that same steel chain necklace. He used it to smash Lesnar right between the eyes. From there it was all academic as Cena hit his trademark Attitude Adjustment, slamming Lesnar on top of the steel steps. One of the refs (there were several involved through the match) was conscious enough to make the final pinfall count, giving Cena the big win.
After this one had ended, Lesnar left on his own two feet, albeit gingerly. After getting checked on in the ring, Cena gave what seemed like a farewell speech to fans, as if he may get fired by John Laurinaitis. This was an interesting match outcome tonight, especially when you've got a guy of Brock Lesnar's stature coming back to WWE from UFC. It may have been Vince McMahon and crew sending a message to Dana White and MMA, or just a way to re-establish Cena as the heroic guy that fans have a love-hate affair with.
What do you think of tonight's victory by John Cena? Were you expecting this outcome or something else? Will Cena be fired on Raw by John Laurinaitis? Will Brock and Cena fight again?

They were ships passing in the night, they won't meet again.
