When it comes to John Cena, you either love him or you hate him. There is no in between. TMZ and Wrestling News World have reported in recent days that John Cena has surprised his wife, Liz Huberdeau, by filing for divorce this week. Cena and Hurberdeau were college sweethearts and have been dating for years before they tied the knot officially in 2009. It has been reported several times over the years that John Cena, without a doubt one of wrestling's hardest workers, works well over 300 days a year, and he has confirmed himself that he is hardly ever home.
Several WWE superstars have admitted to various news outlets that since John Cena and Liz Herberdeau tied the knot in 2009, Cena has regularly been heard to be complaining about his wife and troubles at home backstage at wrestling events. TMZ has also reported that Liz is "shocked and upset" about the divorce but "has no choice but to get on with it," and word has it that she could be claiming for around 70% of John Cena's assets if the divorce does indeed go ahead. It has also been revealed this week that John Cena is worth over $18 million.
This is very sad and to a degree shocking news for the die-hard fans of John Cena. Since making his debut in WWE back in 2002, Cena has gone from strength to strength and is a future WWE Hall of Famer, without a doubt.
So you have to beg the question: Was the stress of what some would say a much to strenuous work load the reason for the marriages break down? Do not forget the last year has been a full book for John Cena as he was on the road constantly promoting the much talked about match at Wrestlemania with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson back in April in Miami.
More on this to come.
