With NBA free agency just months away Kris Humphries knows he can't keep his squabble with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West going. If he wants to find a new home for next season, he may need a divorce deal sooner than later.
Hopes for new NBA deal wears Humphries out on Kardashian and West
It took many times longer than the 72 days his first marriage lasted but Humphries may have finally reached his last straw with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Over the course of the past year the NBA star has dealt with the highest of highs and lowest of lows. He had two career years despite a lockout between. He met and married a beautiful, successful celebrity and the fame that came with it. Now his team picks up the pieces of a terrible year, he's out of a job for the moment and his one-time wife has a richer, more successful boyfriend. Toss in a stretch of weeks where he can't stop hearing about how West and Kardashian make fun of him and it's easy to see how Kris Humphries has gotten fed up with the celebrity life. It's also why rumors have risen that he might work out a divorce deal with Kardashian, going against his earlier promise to make her "tell the truth" about how their marriage was nothing more than a publicity stunt. Then again he might have started working out the deal for more obvious reasons.
Fate of Deron Williams with Brooklyn Nets has Humphries watching close
Humphries made his biggest impacts as a member of the Brooklyn Nets and would love nothing better than to stay with the team as they make their new home in away from New Jersey. A lot of his future ironically depends on something out of his control. One player that has held the free agency world hostage is star point guard Deron Williams. Nets ownership has made it clear they want him back but Williams hasn't decided on anything yet. He initially wanted to test his market value. However many think his original plan to join forces with Dwight Howard may have imploded after the Orlando Magic fired head coach Stan Van Gundy, making it clear they want Howard back. This could mean Williams won't find a better landing spot than back with the Nets, who stand ready to overhaul the entire roster if he leaves. That may mean solid role players like Humphries would hit the open market and would also explain why he suddenly wants a divorce settlement. Pro sports teams have no time for controversy and until Humphries ends his problems with Kardashian, he won't get the offers he wants.
Divorces are never easy, especially for pro athletes like Kris Humphries. Very few men have had their fates in the hands of others, but he is a special case. Not only do Kim Kardashian and Kanye West affect his job status, but Deron Williams too. Whether he stays with the Brooklyn Nets or not may depend on how he plays his cards around all three.
