This past NBA season is one to forget for Lamar Odom as the veteran was traded by the LA Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks and the 32-year-old had such a bad year, Dallas sent him home.
ESPN basketball insider Stephen A. Smith broke the news this week that the veteran forward wants to return to the team and according to Smith, head coach Mike Brown is fully behind the move. If the veteran resigned, he couldn't play until December 11, but after this past season, Odom would do just about anything to get back with his old team.
The biggest concern for the team is money as the LA Lakers have little wiggle room under the salary cap, but the team does have several aging veterans they could release and a trade of Pau Gasol is also not out of the question.
The LA Lakers play for NBA titles, but an early exit the last two years from the playoffs could have the front office making some big moves this summer and bringing back Odom is not the worst move this team could make as it looks to contend for a championship next season.
