With the start of training camps right around the corner, Yahoo Sports has started the sign ups for the upcoming NFL fantasy football season and owners will now prepare to win a championship and what better way to begin than take a look at the top sleepers heading into the 2012 season.
Alex Smith made huge improvements under first year head coach Jim Harbaugh and the 49ers added more weapons on offense, making Smith a viable option for fantasy football owners this season. Smith passed for over 3,100 yards in 2011 and a career high completion percentage of over 61%, but the playoffs showed the former top overall pick for the 49ers is ready to lead this team and give owners some good numbers.
Another good option is rookie quarterback Robert Griffin of the Washington Redskins. Griffin has all the tools to succeed and like Cam Newton from last year, he has the running skills to give owners some good numbers in the 2012 season. Griffin has impressed coaches with his work ethic during OTA's and will begin the year as the team's starting quarterback.
The upcoming NFL season already has a buzz among fans after an off-season of player changes and off-field news, but for fantasy football owners the time to start researching is now and looking for low-priced sleepers is a must for players looking to win championships.
