Chad Ochocinco has decided to take his talents to South Beach. The veteran wide receiver signed a one-year deal with his hometown Miami Dolphins Monday night after working out with the team recently, per NFL.com.
The 11-year veteran averaged 1,000 receiving yards from 2002-2007 as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals and was voted to six Pro Bowls. After being traded to the New England Patriots last season, the 34-year-old receiver had just 15 receptions for 276 yards and one touchdown.
The move can work in either direction for Miami. They traded away talented but yet troublesome wide receiver Brandon Marshall during this offseason so a big name wideout was missing for rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill. On the other hand, the move can completely backfire on them if Chad Ochocinco decides to act as the "diva" some claim him to be, which will not bid well for a starting rookie quarterback to develop in the NFL.
At least one thing is certain, the Dolphins just got that much more interesting to watch on this season of HBO's Hard Knocks.
