The 2012 NBA Draft is quickly approaching, and teams from around the league got their last look at players at the recent combine.
Jonathon Givony writes for Yahoo! and Draft Express, and he has released his latest mock draft with coverage of every pick in round one. There are a few surprises in his first round projections, but with such a deep draft class this year, GMs will have several options to choose from.
Most experts now have Thomas Robinson heading to Charlotte with the second overall pick later this month. The former Kansas star had a good combine and has the size to play well down in the paint. At 6'9", he measured a bit smaller than previously thought, but he has 240 pounds on his frame and the athleticism to run the floor.
Cleveland has little depth in their back-court and should use the fourth overall selection to choose a shooting guard. Bradley Beal from Florida has everything, with good size and a deadly outside shot, but it's his hustle and defensive skills that make him a top five talent this year. Teamed with Kyrie Irving next season, this team would have the best young set of guards in the NBA.
This time of year is when teams add talent to their roster and the draft is top priority for most. The Cleveland Cavaliers will have a ton of young talent after this off-season, but this team must add a veteran during the summer to lead these youngsters, or this team could falter and have another lottery choice in the 2013 draft.
