The LA Dodgers are back as a power in the MLB and with new ownership the team has the money to make things happen. The latest rumor has the team looking at adding another starting pitcher and possibly a big bat before the trade deadline next month.
The latest from Bleacher Report suggests the team looks at adding Philadelphia Phillies ace Cole Hamels. The Southern California native is a free agent after this season and Philadelphia can't afford to let him walk away and get nothing in return.
Contract talks have gone nowhere between the All-Star pitcher and Philadelphia management and that could lead to a move in the next few weeks. The LA Dodgers now have the money to make a deal and sign Hamels to a long-term deal and returning back home is another plus on the Dodgers side.
The 28-year-old is 10-3 with a 3.25 ERA and has a career record of 84-57. Adding another stud pitcher to the LA Dodgers rotation would make them a legitimate contender and quite possibly the favorite to win an MLB title this season.
