The Chicago Bulls knew they needed a viable backup to Derrick Rose
Initially, every NBA mock draft had the Bulls selecting a wing player to provide some much needed scoring with Rose out, but after the Bulls saw the talented players that fell to them at No. 29, they had to take the best player available. And that's exactly what they did as they selected Kentucky Point Guard Marquis Teague according to the Chicago Sun Times.
Bulls PG Derrick Rose is expected to be out for at least the first two months of the season, and there was speculation that backup PG C.J. Watson would not return as the Bulls hold his team option. Which meant that the Bulls need to find a temporary replacement for Rose. Which is exactly why Marquis Teague is a good fit for this team.
Teague is a quick, uptempo PG who can push the ball and set up his teammates. He's a good athlete who has a ton of potential and can learn a lot from starting right now, if need be. Teague is the younger brother of current Atlanta Hawk player Jeff Teague.
