Dallas is looking to get back as the top team in the NBA Western Conference and owner Mark Cuban and the front office made a big move on Thursday to upgrade their roster.
The team drafted center Tyler Zeller with the 17th overall choice, but then traded the youngster to Cleveland for three other picks, a move needed as this team needs to add some youth and athleticism.
The Mavericks then selected Oregon State guard Jared Cunningham, Florida State center Bernard James, and forward Jae Crowder from Marquette. All three of these players have good upside and will add depth, but are any of these youngsters good enough to make this team a champion?
Dallas is looking to add Deron Williams this off-season and have made moves to entice the All-Star point guard to return to his hometown, These youngsters will help on defense, but for this team to return to the NBA Finals, Williams is a must.
The Mavericks get a solid B with their choices on Thursday night, but the team did pass on more highly touted players and if Williams decides not to become a Maverick, this team will wish it wiser choices with their draft picks.
