D-Wade is now a champion. What an excellent season it was for D-Wade and company. However as the playoffs came to a close, it was apparent that this wasn't the Dwayne Wade of old. He was having some serious knee pain, which the doctors are now recommending surgery on. Dwayne Wade has listened to his doctors and will be undergoing surgery this offseason. Due to this knee procedure, Dwayne Wade will be unable to participate in the 2012 Olympics in London.
To win in the playoffs, Wade even had to have his knee drained to be able to perform effectively. This is similar to what Kobe has had to go through in the past. At 30, Wade has had a tough time in the NBA, from an injury standpoint. Even with such serious issues, Wade was still able to average 23 points a game. Thankfully, the Heat had 'King' James to take over with a record-breaking Finals performance.
Wade will have to undergo a procedure that will keep him off the court for a good four to six weeks. Immediately after receiving this news, Wade called Coach Krzyzewski to inform him that he will not be able to take place in the Olympics this season. To Wade fans, this is nothing new. Ever since entering the league, Wade has been faced with a series of serious injuries that have constantly hindered Wade's 'Flash'-like abilities. Wade is thoroughly disappointed that he won't be able to compete in the Olympics this season.
Do you think the loss of Wade will affect Team USA's chances of winning gold?
