The arrival of Austin Rivers could mean the end of Eric Gordon in New Orleans.
The New Orleans drafted G Austin Rivers with the 10th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, and he's widely expected to get minutes right away along with No. 1 pick Anthony Davis. Rivers is considered by many a shooting guard, which is the same position that Eric Gordon plays.

Gordon is a restricted free-agent with the Hornets this off-season and will command top dollar on the market. However, according to RealGM, the Hornets are expected to match any reasonable offer for Gordon. The Phoenix Suns have around $23 million in cap space to play with, which is higher than most teams.
The Suns could offer Gordon anywhere from $12-14 million in a backloaded contract which would make it difficult for the Hornets to sign, since it would expire when Rivers and Davis would be up for extensions from their rookie contracts. It will be interesting to see if they do match.
