Steve Nash just got offered a 3-year, $36 million deal from the Toronto Raptors. NBA trade rumors are certain to pop up, especially if the Phoenix Suns feel that they could lose their star point guard for nothing.
The offer from the Raptors is a big one and it shows just how serious Toronto is about bringing the Canadian star home. For an aging point guard, that is a lot of money to toss around, but the Raptors apparently feel that they can make it back through ticket sales.
Nash is still likely to receive offers from the Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets this offseason, so his agent won't make a decision quickly about the Toronto offer. It could also cause the Suns to offer a better deal, possibly with a fourth year attached to the end of it.
After Deron Williams, Nash could become the best free agent on the market this offseason, especially if the restricted free agents all go back to their respective teams. He could change the culture in cities like Toronto or New York, but Nash still hasn't committed to leaving Phoenix in the first place.
Do you think that Steve Nash should sign with the Toronto Raptors? Would the Phoenix Suns be best served by listening to some of the NBA trade rumors and working out a sign-and-trade deal with Nash?
