Charlotte had a disastrous 2011-12 NBA season, but the team is looking to rebuild and started the summer adding two good prospects in the draft.
The Bobcats are doing the right things to make the changes they need to succeed, but the front office will need to bring in a veteran with leadership skills and Bleacher report writer Jesse Dorsey suggests the team look at former UNC star Antawn Jamison to fill that need.
Jamison is entering his 15th year in the league and is a consummate professional. With career numbers of 19 points and nearly eight rebounds per game, the veteran can help the young Bobcats on and off the court next season.
The return to North Carolina should be appealing, but also helping another young team rebuild is a challenge the veteran could use to end his career. Jamison did a terrific job last year in Cleveland and the young Cavaliers team is better because of his presence, but the team is ready to move on and now the veteran forward is looking for that last big pay-day as he plays out the twilight of his career.
Charlotte won't compete for a spot in the NBA Playoffs next season, but adding a veteran leader will help this team's future and Jamison is a perfect choice to lead the Bobcats squad for the next year or two.
