The NHL off-season is in full gear as free agents look for their best option to play next season, and though a number of veterans have signed deals, the top names are still looking for the best fit for them and their family.
The latest hockey rumor from Bleacher Report writer Nicholas Goss suggests New Jersey Devils star Zach Parise signs on to play in Pittsburgh. The Penguins have two of the best offensive threats in hockey with Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin and adding a winger like Parise this off-season would make Pittsburgh a front-runner in the Eastern Conference next season.
Entering his eighth year in the league, Parise has 410 points in 502 career games, including 69 points last year for the Stanley Cup runner-ups. His offensive skills are among the best in the NHL and moving to a solid team like Pittsburgh would give the soon-to-be 28-year-old his best shot at winning a championship.
Parise is also entertaining offers from other franchises, including his home state team of Minnesota, but with the structure of the NHL, look for the young star to sign with a bigger name club this summer as he looks to win what eluded him and the Devils this year.
