Los Angeles made several moves last off-season and it paid off in a big way as the Kings won the NHL Stanley Cup this season, but the team is looking to get even better and will use the free agent signing period this summer to add more talent.
The latest from Bleacher suggests that Shane Doan continue his career with the LA kings, despite the bad blood he had when his Phoenix Coyotes lost to LA in the post-season. Doan is one of the better offensive veterans available this off-season and staying on the West Coast and playing for a contending team are two good reasons to sign.
The 35-year-old scored 50 points last season and has nine straight seasons with 50+ points, and adding him to the LA Kings roster would make this team even more explosive next year. The LA Kings have a good mix of youth and veterans and could use another veteran with playoff experience and the hunger to win in their attempt to win back-to-back titles.
Doan could choose to finish his NHL career in Phoenix, but with Ray Whitney leaving, his chances are slim of even making the post-season in the upcoming year, so now he must decide if money or a chance at winning a title is more important at this late stage of his career.
