Ray Allen has been involved in many NBA trade rumors this offseason, but it appears he has come close to deciding where he wants to play next year. According to the Los Angeles Times, the decision by the Clippers to go with Chauncey Billups and Jamal Crawford has made the choice for Allen much easier. He now has to decide whether he wants to return to the Boston Celtics or go play for the Miami Heat.
This is where a sign-and-trade deal could get worked out if Boston feels that Allen is destined to go to the Heat anyway. It seems like Miami would be an odd choice for Allen though, because he would likely have to come off the bench and serve as a reserve for the team. With Dwyane Wade as the starting shooting guard in Miami, it would also seem like Allen's minutes could get cut down quite a bit.

The decision for Allen could actually come by the end of the day Thursday (July 5), paving the way for several franchises to take their next step. If Allen stays in Boston, he would have to share minutes with the recently signed Jason Terry, so it appears he will have to take a cut in minutes no matter where he ends up playing.
Do you think Ray Allen should just re-sign with the Boston Celtics? Would the Miami Heat be best served by working out a sign-and-trade deal to acquire him?
