With the recent flurry of free agent signings around the NBA, some teams are still searching for players that can help their franchise in the upcoming basketball season, and the LA Lakers are still one of those teams.
The trade for Steve Nash has made headlines, but this team still needs a small forward and depth on their bench and, the latest from Frank Isola of the NY Daily News, they could fill both needs with the signing of Grant Hill.
Hill is not the young player the LA Lakers are hoping to add, but the 39-year-old veteran is a capable player on both ends of the court and reportedly will either play in Los Angeles this season or retire.
Nash averaged over 10 points per game off the bench last season with the Suns and is a steady influence off the bench. This possible move would give the team some scoring punch and depth, something they have lacked over the last couple of seasons.
The LA Lakers are looking to win another NBA title, and if they can't get younger, they might as well get wiser and sign a veteran like Hill to fill their needs and give this team the best opportunity to succeed, even if it's only a short-term solution.
