Jason Kidd is in the middle of some shocking NBA rumors, this one involving the New York Knicks. ESPN is reporting that Kidd has now decided to join New York, rather than re-sign with the Dallas Mavericks for another season. This is a shocking announcement from the veteran point guard, especially because it seemed like a sure-thing that Dallas would keep him.
Kidd looks to take a roughly $9 million, three-year deal with the Knicks, one that is very similar to what he was expected to take from the Mavericks. Not only does this seem like a steal for the Knicks at this point, but horrible news for a Dallas team that has been losing out on trades and free agents this entire offseason.

When the Mavericks lost out on Steve Nash and Deron Williams, it seemed that the team would have to settle on getting Kidd back for a few more seasons. Instead, when the dust has finally settled, the Mavericks are taking another step in the wrong direction when it comes to adding depth to the roster. Now what might happen is a sign-and-trade deal with the Knicks, all so that the Mavericks can recoup something from losing their starting point guard.
Do you think that Jason Kidd is a perfect fit with the New York Knicks? Can you believe that the Dallas Mavericks have lost out on another negotiation?

I don't mind them giving up on Jeremy Lin, the most overrated player in the NBA, but signing Kidd doesn't do anything for them except give them a savvy backup.
And it opens a spot on Dallas for Ramon Sessions, who will be ousted from LA by the Nash trade.
Jason Kidd says he is joining the Knicks. I agree too old to be a starting point guard, but will see
