Saturday night, MMA fans will enjoy the UFC 148 Silva vs. Sonnen II Pay-Per-View event via live streaming video online and television. There will be several free fights shown online and via TV prior to the main fight card as well.
The UFC 148 live stream begins at 7:25PM EST with one free fight available online. The UFC will present Rafaello Oliveira vs. Yoislandy Izquierdo, a battle of two 155 pounders. While Oliveira is the more experienced of the two at a record of 14-5-0, Izquierdo has just 1 loss out of 7 fights. This could be an interesting one to get fans warmed up.
Starting at 8PM EST, there's 4 more free preliminary fights which will be shown on FX via cable or satellite television. Fans will see these fights free of charge ahead of the main fight card. These fights include Guillard vs. Camoes, Philippou vs. Fukuda, and Alessio vs. Roller. The UFC provides these as a bit of a way to get fans enticed into ordering the main card.
That main card should be a good one, with Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen headlining the fight card. The main PPV has a start time of 10PM EST on cable, satellite and internet live stream video feed. Also on this card is Forrest Griffin vs. Tito Ortiz, in their third battle, with one fighter hoping to leave as the better in their 3 fights. Other fights will include Chung Le vs. Patrick Cote, Dong Hyun Kim vs. Demian Maia, and Chad Mendes vs. Cody McKenzie.
Of note, the Middleweight Champion Silva is currently the favorite to win the main event at -300 odds. Forrest Griffin is favored to beat Tito Ortiz with odds of -325. Is it possible fans might seen an upset in either of these bouts? Definitely, as the UFC has been known to have some exciting and controversial finishes to fights. All MMA fans can hope for tonight is some entertaining action well worth the price of the Pay-Per-Views!
