The MLB Home Run Derby 2012 edition will be live streaming online, in addition to televised coverage on Monday night. During the latest contest, some of baseball's top sluggers will look to show their strength and power by smashing the ball out of the park.
With the Home Run Derby live stream and TV coverage beginning at 8PM EST, baseball fans will see several MLB All-Stars in action. Included among the contestants are Detroit Tigers star Prince Fielder, Dodgers star Matt Kemp, Yankees slugger Robinson Cano, and Blue Jays star José Bautista.
There's a total of eight players in the contest, with four from the National League, and four from the American League. Kemp heads up the NL squad and is joined by Giancarlo Stanton, Carlos Gonzalez, and Carlos Beltran. Robinson Cano will serve as captain of the AL squad, and will be joined by Fielder, Cano, and Mark Trumbo.
Right now, Stanton and Bautista are the favorites to win Monday night's event. However, Robinson Cano is fourth in terms of odds to win, and was last year's winner with a total of 32. He barely edged out Adrian Gonzalez in a classic Yankees vs. Red Sox showdown. If Cano wins again tonight, it will give the Yankees their fourth overall win in the event, the most of any team.
Fans will be able to watch tonight's MLB Home Run Derby on the live stream at WatchESPN or ESPN's channels starting at 8PM EST. There's eight great hitters competing so it's really tough to pick one favorite right now. Once the contest gets going, fans will possibly see one competitor tower over the rest of the field.
